Oh, I haven't made a post at my proper journal in a week. Well, here's a post to rectify that.

Also, a quick pimp for brb_gallifrey since we're talking about Mark of the Rani this week!

Things that have happened in the past week:
- I've filed my FAFSA (free application for student aid), so I should know within the week what sort of aid I get, if any. I hope I get something in addition to the fee waiver, since I really don't have money to be buying books and things.
- I made my mom's boyfriend upset enough to leave the house after I yelled at him for suggesting that gay people are more likely to become homicidal lunatics than straight people. The whole situation was not good and I've reminded myself that I need to stay logical when people push my buttons instead of storming off in a huff.
- In related news, my mother said "You don't really want a rainbow umbrella, do you? People will think you're gay." GAH. Seriously, mom? Grow up.
- On a lighter note, I got some fabric:


That's some Hawaiian shirt fabric for my Six vest (still need to get a couple more in the right colors) and some gingham for adding to my shirt. I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to do that part yet, but I'll figure it out.

Staying calm and logical in a fight isn't bad, but sometimes yelling and getting angry is necessary to make yourself heard. I used to be too quiet and submissive, until I finally stood up against my parents and that felt really good (alas it didn't do much for the mood in the house, but I learned to defend my own opinions). Also, wtf your mom's boyfriend, wtf.

A rainbow umbrella makes you look gay?! Let's be happy and gay together then. :P

Oh, and if you would like to PM me your address, you might get a birthday present from Germany. I just can't in good conscience let a Six fan be without a Six figure.

I think it was less the getting angry and more that all I was thinking at the time was "agh how much of an idiot are you?!" so I sort of lost any chance of turning it into a functioning argument. I've never had trouble making myself heard when I really want to be...often to not-so-good results. =/

When it rained LIKE FUCKING CRAZY in February, I actually found myself wanting a Six-esque rainbow umbrella. They're quite pretty on grey, wet, stormy days!
