I would like to share my feelings on the matter:

Tennant has had some amazing episodes and some really awful episodes, and through it all has been an amazingly endearing Who fanboy. So, cheers to him and the future of his undoubtedly hugely successful career. I'm looking forward to the new regime and hope that the show is taken in a direction I can be proud of.

The Doctor is dead. Long live the Doctor.

End of time Part One reaction post. (plus a bit on the clip from next week)

Here be spoilaars )

I'd been thinking about how I'm going to get to Gallifrey One without a job or money this year, then it hit me: I've got a bond! One that my godmother bought for me when I was born. I don't know exactly how much it's worth, since I can't find any information online, but since I'm twenty-one now, it's worth as much as it ever will be...and that could be up to a thousand bucks. If it is, then I'm going to Gallifrey this year! I'll have to fill out the paperwork and turn it in.

IMO, it's a perfect use for a bond I've been hanging onto my entire life.

...and yes, I am aware of how incredibly geeky that makes me.

cosmic_celery: (PD: Books are great)
Not much to report on from the daily life of. I've been having a lovely time of hermiting myself away, especially since the weather's cooled off a bit and fall is coming on. Earlier this week I got a flu shot (for the regular flu, not the swine flu) so hopefully I won't end up getting sick this winter.

And I've organized the bookshelves in my room! They are now loosely categorized and not piled on top of piles. Though I seem to have mislaid my copy of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (I suspect it's under my bed), and I have two different paperback editions of Good Omens.

Speaking of...am I the only person who imagines Aziraphale and Crowley as early Fry and Laurie? I think someone suggested it to me a while ago and now it's stuck in my head.

The only other book I've got two of is because I've got it in German and in English. It's titled Die Blendung and Auto-da-fe, respectively. I'd say that the author (Elias Canetti) is one of my favorites, but I still haven't gotten through either of them. I have read through a book of his journals, which are absolutely wonderful.

I've got so much to read and here I find myself reading through Good Omens again. Well, it is a very good book.

Pictures of my bookcases, because I am that sort of person: )

Shallow thoughts on Blakes 7 while I'm thinking about it:

-Up to Season 3 now.
-Apparently, bras cease to exist some time in the future. Better stock up.
-I liked the original Travis better. The second guy reminds me of Nicolas Cage and is often dressed up in what looks like leather wicker.
-Speaking of leather: Full leather outfits are nice, but probably not the best choice for stealth operations. Creak creak.

Edit because oh I forgot to mention! I made a twitter for Fitz. Follow him if that's your bag.

I had to share this, because I've been cracking myself up all week with it:

And one to prove that I am, in fact, normal:

So, I think I will drop that first class. It's a really lovely class and I like it a lot but it's the massive-amount-of-reading cherry on top of a literary all you can eat sundae...and I never was very fond of maraschinos anyway.

Geekiness served me well in Brit Lit today, as I was able to both name the warrior race from Star Trek (Klingons, of course) when he couldn't remember for a reference they made to Shakespeare, and an off-hand comment about Noel Coward (whom I know about thanks to Doctor Who) that I think got me in some serious student/teacher banter.

Mom stayed home today not feeling well. She's not been doing grand and I hope I can alleviate some of her stress somehow...I just need to figure out how to deal with mine first.

Now, test in Math class, then home. Wish me luck!
